Blue Dress Barn Wedding, Rebecca and Jessica Roost

Blue Dress Barn, my new favorite venue! Benton Harbor, MI

Congratulations Mrs. and Mrs. Roost!! Whooo hoooo!! I have been so excited for this wedding. I have known Rebecca for years and I am so ecstatic that these two found each other. These two just fit and make sense. Both Jessica and Rebecca are completely out-of-this-world-gorgeous, both inside and out. They make your day better by just being around. Both personalities bring light to the room.

Rebecca proposed to Jess while picking apples at a local orchard. These two are so so fun. Lots of giggling. The Roosts had moved away to New York and lived out there for a bit, but a whole lot of people are glad they made the move back to Grand Rapids (including me!).  They have a huge circle of close friends and family. Amazing people, seriously. Dan, a good friend of the girls, made his debut as Dan the DJ/MC. How fun was that?!! He did a fabulous job and kept everyone dancing all night.

I had so many favorite parts of the day! One was the getting ready part. The room was divided by a sheet and the girls were not to see each other. Twenty people getting ready in one little divided room- super fun. Everyone was so excited! Another was how the sun rays kept falling right on the two of them during the ceremony, giving me goosebumps! Also, right after the ceremony, the entire bridal party ran to the bridal suite and we could hear them all jumping up and down and screaming. It was such a cool finish to the beautiful ceremony and a fun sign that the party was about to begin.

I am so honored that I was chosen to document their big day, and I am always honored to be called their friend!! Thank you, ladies. You're the best.

Enjoy the sneak peek!

Thank you to my second photographer, Lauren Nicole!!

Comerica Park- Kristen and Suzanne

Comerica Park
Detroit MI

Congratulations to Kristen and Suzanne! These two were married in May in Chicago, after about twenty years of being together! I love the fact that they had planned on spending that weekend just the two of them and their family and friends said, "No way, we're coming too." It was a great group of people for the reception as well. It was a fun and laid-back event at the Tiger Club. We were fortunate to get the insider tour of Comerica Park. So cool!! We went into the dugouts, the visitor's locker room, the press box, among other "insider spots".  It was really something. My favorite part was walking out of the "tunnel" to the field. What an amazing experience. Go Tigers!

Thank you for sharing your story with me! I wish you many more years of happiness together.

Here is a little preview of the festivities:

Apple Mountain Resort -- Erin and Bryan

Apple Mountain Resort
Freeland MI

Erin and Bryan met through his cousin, Allison, over pitchers of Blatz one Tuesday night. After laughing all night, Erin had to ask for Bryan's number. Their love sustained a long distance relationship while Erin was in Grand Rapids for pharmacy school. As they put it, "Distance is not for the fearful, it's for the bold. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don't see it nearly enough." After graduation, they started thinking about happily ever after.

These two are so funny and super, super cool people. Naturals in front of the camera, they kept me laughing through the lens. Just in case you missed their awesome engagement session, you may view it here:

The wedding was gorgeous. Apple Mountain Resort has sprawling green hills and an intimate little chapel that was perfect for these two. My favorite part of the day was "the shoe game". This was new to me. Erin and Bryan sat back to back and they had one of Bryan's shoes and one of Erin's in each hand. The DJ (Scott Arnett from Rusch Entertainment) would ask a question and each raised either Erin or Bryan's shoe to answer the question. Laughter erupted throughout the venue.

Whenever I think about this couple, I just see smiles. They are all smiles!!I am honored that I had the chance to document their big day. Special thanks to the people who made this day so wonderful and go so smoothly are listed below.
