Grand Rapids Art Museum Wedding - Hahyoon and Andrew

Wedding at the GRAM
Grand Rapids, MI

Congratulations Hahyoon and Andrew! This cute couple, with their cute families, cute friends, just cut cute cute. The day was so fun with warm smiling faces all around.

These two met through church while they were in college. They knew each other two years before they actually started dating. After about four years together, they started planning a wedding. Andrew surprised Hahyoon at home one day when he wasn't supposed to be there, with a ring! It was private, quiet, and perfect. They celebrated with wine and string cheese.

Some plans changed for us on the big day, due to a boisterous parade right where the ceremony was supposed to be- with loud generators- so we all adjusted to a new plan, still at the GRAM, which was truly amazing. Nothing could spoil the bigger meaning of this day for Hahyoon and Andrew.

What a beautiful day to celebrate! I am honored that I got to document it. Enjoy the preview!

Founders Brewing - Caitlin and Tara

Grand Rapids, MI
Engagement Session

Congratulations Caitlin and Tara! Their first date was actually at Founders! So, it worked out that we ended up here because of the rain. It was nice, rainy romantic, and as always-great craft beer. These ladies are oh-so-super cute. I loved this session.

They met through work and were together for two years before Caitlin proposed, at the Detroit Zoo, under all the Christmas lights. I know, right?! How beautiful. What's even sweeter is that Tara was planning on proposing as well, and had a ring for Caitlin at home!

We are all excited for their wedding in October of 2018! I photographed Caitlin's sister's wedding. If you didn't catch Erin and Bryan's wedding, you can check it out here: http://lookatthebiggerpicture.com/blog/apple-mountain-resort-wedding . They also had one of my favorite engagement sessions. You can check that out here: http://lookatthebiggerpicture.com/blog/erinandbryan
So, I am ecstatic and honored to be documenting more of the Calcutt family's adventures!

Here is a preview of Caitlin and Tara's  engagement session:

Mommy Daughter Session

Montpelier, Vermont
Casual Session at home

I visited my dear old friend and aloha sister, Nikki, in Vermont. We all had colds and spent a lot of time cooking comfort food and watching cartoons. (How have I not seen "The Last Unicorn?" It seems like a staple lesson for kiddos, and adults, too.) This was perfect for me because Nikki is just a comforting and nurturing soul. She was a subject in a lot of my fine art work on Maui. My muse. Our lives have changed dramatically since those island years... I can't believe how big Zara has grown! I took my camera out and snapped a few of them all cute and casual on the couch. After a couple days, the sun came out and we recharged with some vitamin D.

For one of my favorite ladies... I hope these make you smile! Love you.
