Riverside Park Engagement- Samantha and Seth

Riverside Park
Grand Rapids, MI

Congratulations to Samantha and Seth! So excited for these two loveducks. So fun and warm (nice because it was a cold day in October!), genuine, and easy to feel right at home with them.

They met online and both knew they had something special right away. They found out they had actually met before. Both Sam and Seth played lacrosse and had the same memory about that game, when Sam gave Seth a hard time and heckled him, but he called her out on it. Seth’s team ended up annihilating Sam’s.

Fast forward a few years together, the two were up north with family for the 4th of July at the lake, with cornhole tournaments and all. Seth said a prayer after the national anthem and proposed.

Stay tuned for their big day in December!

Movie Date Engagement Session- Amy and David

Grand Rapids, MI

Ooooh, I can't wait for this wedding in August!! Amy and David are so super warm, friendly, funny, and laid back! They let me tag along with them to the movies! What a cool session. This is an idea of their date night... and how much they laugh. Amazing.

The two met through mutual friends and have been together for seven years. Always the fun and active couple, their first date was building a snowman and snowboarding, which both of them still love to do. David proposed on a trip to Mackinaw Island, among friends. He set up the travel guide, biking, and tour. Amy remembers being awed by the beauty around her and taking a picture while David was talking. He completely took her by surprise. Well done.

Here are some samples of their date night. Enjoy!

Wine Picnic Spring Grove Park- Cheryl and Marcus

Grand Rapids, MI
Spring Grove Park
Engagement Session

Congratulations to Cheryl and Marcus!! What an amazing and sweet couple! They met their last year of college through mutual friends. Many friends had graduated, so Cheryl and Marcus started spending more time together. After being chased by Marcus for almost a year, they graduated and did the long distance thing for a couple years.  Marcus lived in Ohio and Indiana to pursue his teaching career, and Cheryl stayed in Michigan and started working in Grand Rapids. After almost two years, he realized he couldn't stand being without her everyday and moved to Grand Rapids. He proposed at a friend's cottage up north last May. He asked her to come sit on the dock and started talking about how they had been together for five years... and then he pulled a ring out of his pocket.

I am honored to document their story. For this engagement session, at Spring Grove Park, in Grandville, the light was so beautiful!! You know I like the sun flare. I couldn't stop shooting, which made it very difficult to cull and edit this session! Marcus is actually a wine rep, so they had a little vino while the sun was setting. Beautiful day, beautiful people. I love my job.

I cannot wait to photograph this wedding in June!! Stay tuned.

Here is a sneak peek. Enjoy!
