Grand Rapids Winter Engagement- Jessica and Shane

Grand Rapids, MI

Congratulations to Jessica and Shane! What an amazingly sweet couple. They were such troopers, to want to be in the frigid, frigid cold for this session. Brrr.

The two met as co-workers years ago. They had to keep their relationship a secret because they were working together- even from best friends. It all sounds very sneaky and romantic. Years later, Jess and Shane found themselves building a house in Muskegon. They were on a walk by the lake one day, when Shane stopped at a gazebo and proposed. The proposal was caught on film, by someone working on the house with them. Sneaky sneaky.

Both Jess and Shane were all smiles at this session. I know they were just trying to stay warm, but I love how connected they were, and very natural. We shot downtown Grand Rapids, starting at the famous Blue Bridge. Then we strolled through the snow to warm up with some coffee, and stopped by the skating rink at Rosa Parks Circle. It was a beautiful night.

I love their story and I am very grateful that they chose me to capture it!! I can't wait for this wedding in September. Stay tuned...

Rainy, Snowy, Engagement Kalamazoo-Chelsea and Brock

Kalamazoo, MI

I am so grateful that Chelsea and Brock found me!! What amazing people!! I know that we would be best buds if they lived here (they live in Texas). They met with me on their way to meet family for the holidays- a 60 hour road trip, I believe! That is impressive, I must say.

This session was soooo much fun. I felt like I was hanging out with old friends. The day was pretty wet and dreary, but I think you will see that beautiful, romantic images can come from the rain! Proof that you shouldn't always cancel just because of the weather...

We lucked out at Western (where they met) and ran into some theatre pals, so we were allowed to photograph inside their old stompin' grounds. How cool is that? I also have spent some days in an auditorium and a Black Box (we have a lot in common), so it was really nice to be able to photograph them in "the theatre world". By the way, Chelsea is a professional model. She is that gorgeous in real life.

Chelsea and Brock are so warm and bubbly-- full of life and love. That warmth came in handy at the Kalamazoo Walking Mall. They were troopers in the cold. I love the rainy shots with all the lights in the background. Beautiful people turned this into a beautiful day!

I can't wait to photograph this wedding. Cannot Wait.

Here is a sneak peek of their session...
