Movie Date Engagement Session- Amy and David

Grand Rapids, MI

Ooooh, I can't wait for this wedding in August!! Amy and David are so super warm, friendly, funny, and laid back! They let me tag along with them to the movies! What a cool session. This is an idea of their date night... and how much they laugh. Amazing.

The two met through mutual friends and have been together for seven years. Always the fun and active couple, their first date was building a snowman and snowboarding, which both of them still love to do. David proposed on a trip to Mackinaw Island, among friends. He set up the travel guide, biking, and tour. Amy remembers being awed by the beauty around her and taking a picture while David was talking. He completely took her by surprise. Well done.

Here are some samples of their date night. Enjoy!

Grand Rapids Winter Engagement - Dennis and Wezi

Engagement Session
Grand Rapids, MI

Congratulations to Dennis and Wezi! What a gorgeous pair. These two are so much fun!! We had the best time trotting around downtown. Gotta love Grand Rapids in the winter. I am soooooo excited to shoot their wedding on June 27th! That happens to be my parents anniversary, and they've been married for 43 years, so it's a good day to get hitched!

Dennis and Wezi met at Grand Valley, where they were business majors and also worked together. They have been together for five years, most of it being a long distance relationship. Dennis has lived in South Dakota and Indianapolis, but they always made time to see each other and prove that the long-distance thing can work! Dennis proposed on a rooftop at sunset. Awwww. He moved back to Grand Rapids recently, so they are together again at last. I am so happy for these two! So warm, friendly, and fun! I'd freeze anytime for you guys.

Grand Rapids Winter Engagement- Jessica and Shane

Grand Rapids, MI

Congratulations to Jessica and Shane! What an amazingly sweet couple. They were such troopers, to want to be in the frigid, frigid cold for this session. Brrr.

The two met as co-workers years ago. They had to keep their relationship a secret because they were working together- even from best friends. It all sounds very sneaky and romantic. Years later, Jess and Shane found themselves building a house in Muskegon. They were on a walk by the lake one day, when Shane stopped at a gazebo and proposed. The proposal was caught on film, by someone working on the house with them. Sneaky sneaky.

Both Jess and Shane were all smiles at this session. I know they were just trying to stay warm, but I love how connected they were, and very natural. We shot downtown Grand Rapids, starting at the famous Blue Bridge. Then we strolled through the snow to warm up with some coffee, and stopped by the skating rink at Rosa Parks Circle. It was a beautiful night.

I love their story and I am very grateful that they chose me to capture it!! I can't wait for this wedding in September. Stay tuned...
